Backgrounds

Backgrounds play a crucial role in setting the mood, enhancing the story, and creating an immersive experience for viewers.  In partnership with you , crafting your backgrounds will be a rewarding journey.  Here are the steps we will follow to create this art:

Step 1: Conceptualize

Before putting pencil to paper, we need a clear vision of the scenes you want to create. We will consider the mood, location, and perspective of your background. Will it be a tranquil forest, a bustling cityscape, or a futuristic sci-fi setting? We will create some sketches to show you our concepts.

Step 2: Add Depth

Our backgrounds often feature multiple layers to create depth and dimension. We will divide the image into foreground, middle ground, and background elements. The closer the element is to the viewer, the more detail and contrast it will have.  Before going further, we will send you a draft of our partially-completed sketch.

Step 3: Block in Colors

Once you approve the art direction, we will start blocking in colors using a base layer.  This is the point we start to consider the lighting conditions, shadows, and color schemes that match your scene's mood.

Step 4: Add Details and Textures

Once block coloring is done, we begin adding finer details and textures.  Where applicable, we use references to ensure accuracy, and we're not afraid to experiment with various brushes or techniques to achieve the desired effect.

Step 5: Refine and Polish

Now we're down to the final stretch, but it's where a surprising amount of the work lies.  After we polish your background, and tweak the lighting, shadows, and atmospheric effects, it's sent to you for final review.

Step 6: Review and Adjust

Once you've had a look at our art, please send us your comments!  We will be happy to adjust it for you as necessary to meet your needs.
